Residential Roofs:
Getting Ready for the Install

Thank you for choosing epic peace of mind!

You’ve signed a contract, we’re ordering your materials, scheduling our crews, and it’s almost time for your new roof.

Here’s everything you need to know (and do!) to be ready for our crews to get to work to restore your roof and your peace of mind.

* If you have not yet made your initial payment, we will move forward on ordering your new roof materials and scheduling the crew as soon as we have received payment, then expect to hear from us to confirm your planned installation date.

Setting the date

Your final contract has a planned date range for your install, typically around 2 weeks after contract signing. As material and crew details are finalized, we will contact you to confirm the exact date as well as the starting time.

The starting time is most often between 6 to 7 AM, but may vary based on the time of sunrise and the size of your roof.

The install date may be still be moved a few days forward/backwards at the last minute due to the weather forecast, material availability, or crew schedule conflicts, if any should arise.

Preparing vehicles

The day before, or at least the evening before your install date, move all vehicles needed the following day away from the house.

Park on the driveway well away from the house, or have them parked on the street, or at a neighbor's who is willing to let you use their driveway for the duration of the install.

Leave room

Leave room for trucks and materials to be delivered.

The trucks and trailers for hauling away waste shingles and construction debris are large and wide, please leave plenty of room for clearance beside your vehicles if they are left in the driveway, as well as room for the work equipment to be parked close to your home.

Secure your pets

Yard fence gates will be opened and kept open while our crews are moving quickly and efficiently to complete your new roof installation in a timely manner.

Pets who are stressed by lightning or fireworks may need to be boarded elsewhere.

Moving quickly

In order to minimize chances of weather interfering with completion, our goal is to complete the entire installation in one day if at all possible, and we will be constantly moving around all sides your home.

Our crews will take all due care and caution to protect your landscaping, however, we cannot be liable for wear and tear to your lawn from high traffic during the installation and removal of debris.

What's going to happen?

On a full roof replacement, as per the estimated scope of work, you will see the following steps occur.

  1. Your existing roof will be removed down to the deck.
  2. Any rotten deck boards will be replaced (2 replacements included).
  3. Ice & Water Shields in all valleys based on slope.
  4. Entire roof covered and sealed with new, synthetic felt.
  5. Drip edge and starter shingles installed.
  6. New pipe boots and flashing installed as applicable.
  7. New shingles installed.
  8. New ridge vents installed.
  9. Your old roof debris hauled away.
  10. Your yard and driveway will be magnetically swept for nails with extreme thoroughness.

New Roof!

Most installations are started and finished on the same day, but even if we have to come back, we will finish well and then we'll all celebrate your new roof that will protect your home and family for years to come!
